A new exhibition at The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge ‘Real Families: Stories of Change’, asks us to consider what makes a family today, and the impact our families have on us, through the eyes of contemporary artists.![]()

The exhibition features one of the original glass desiccators – part of an early incubator of the type used by the IVF pioneers, Patrick Steptoe, Robert Edwards, and Jean Purdy, to conceive the world’s first test-tube baby Louise Brown.![]()

The two-week wait is the 14 day interval between ovulation and when your period would usually occur.![]()

When you have fertility treatment, you will be told to wait two weeks after your embryo transfer before you take a pregnancy test. This is because pregnancy tests detect the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in urine, and the levels necessary for a positive result are usually reached around 14 days after fertilisation.![]()
