#WeAreFamily @Bourn Hall and all are welcome

#WeAreFamily at Bourn Hall ClinicA new member of the Bourn Hall family is born every day, and each is a little miracle, made with love, a bit of science and lots of dedication.

Family is at the heart of everything we do at Bourn Hall and we wanted our new website to reflect this.

There is an old saying that ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and that is also true of fertility treatment, where it ‘takes a team to make a baby’. A woman, her partner, the support of their friends and family, our fertility consultants, nurses, embryologists, and all of our teams behind the scenes.

For our new website we decided to focus on the wider sense of family. This short video gives you a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the photoshoot.

The Bourn Hall family was established in 1980 when the world’s first IVF clinic was founded by Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards, the team that pioneered IVF and delivered the first ‘test-tube’ baby – Louise Joy Brown. Louise’s mother had further treatment at Bourn Hall to conceive her second baby Natalie.

Bourn Hall babies and their parents from those early times still return to visit us and are often delighted to see familiar faces in our team.

When people come to work with us they often stay for many years.

The fertility journey is not an easy one and each pregnancy is an achievement that conceals a lot of heartache.

However hard we try, some will not be successful but the story doesn’t end there. With our support many explore other routes to parenthood or through our counselling move on to other lives.

Whatever help you need we are able to support you, from lifestyle advice or simple interventions to boost your natural fertility through to specialist treatment to overcome known and unexplained infertility up to and including IVF and associated treatments.

We are very grateful to our friends, family and patients who took part in creating so many beautiful photographs, many of which you can see on the new website.

@BournHallClinic # wearefamily – we welcome you in.
