Don’t wait – book a virtual IVF consultation now
01 May 2020
Would you like tailored advice about fertility options that are appropriate to you? Bourn Hall is offering secure virtual IVF consultations with a fertility doctor that will fast track your treatment.
We offer IVF consultations and treatment planning with a highly specialised experienced fertility doctor via secure video call.
The video consultation is via Teams. It enables patients to talk to one of our specialist doctors using a computer, tablet, or smartphone in a safe and confidential environment.
To book your consultation contact our patient services team who will confirm your appointment with an email providing all the information you will need to log in.
Virtual IVF consultation
In a virtual consultation we would analyse the results from any tests you may already have had, assess your medical background, talk through your treatment options and prepare a personalised treatment plan.
If you have not yet had diagnostic tests this is not a problem. The consultant can still give you bespoke advice and put in place a provisional plan. If tests are required we will be able to quickly perform any necessary tests in one appointment and refine the plan accordingly.
Relevant fertility tests may include blood tests to check your hormone levels, a semen analysis to look at sperm health, and an ultrasound scan of your pelvis.
Excellent IVF success rates
Bourn Hall’s IVF success rates are excellent, with a live birth rate of 44% per embryo transfer (for patients of all ages) which is higher than the national average.
Your own chances of success may be greater than this depending on your age and test results. For patients aged under 38 our live birth rate per embryo transfer are over 50% (see data from our Norwich clinic on the left).
It may be possible to provide a personalised indication of your chances of success with IVF at Bourn Hall, using your age, results from your tests, medical history and the time that you have spent trying for a baby.
How long does IVF treatment take?
IVF treatment takes an average of 9 weeks. It involves stimulating your ovaries with medication so that many eggs mature at the same time, collecting the eggs, mixing them with sperm and transferring the fertilised eggs (embryos) to the womb.

What does IVF cost?
If you are eligible for NHS funding you can have your treatment free of charge at any of our clinics.
If you are self-funding you can find out more about costs at your consultation where your individual treatment plan will be developed. There is also a fee calculator on our website.
Bourn Hall has partnered with finance providers Access Fertility to provide an Unlimited Package – as many cycles as you need over two years for a fixed fee with a 100% refund if you don’t have a baby. You can also opt for multi-cycle packages or other money-back guarantee packages through Access Fertility at Bourn Hall.
We also offer a significant reduction in fees for patients who are willing and able to egg or sperm share
We’ll talk you through your individualised treatment options, and provide you with written information and costs for the different options.
Convenient locations
When treatments can re-start, being able to attend a clinic nearby is real advantage. Not having to travel into London removes the stress of public transport, lack of parking and crowded spaces. Our clinics all have ample free parking and are in locations where you do not need to travel too far or through crowds to get to us.
We have full service clinics in Cambridge, Norwich and Wickford so if you live in the East of England we have clinics within easy driving distance. All your treatment can be carried out under one roof with the same dedicated team without the need to go to London for egg collection and embryo transfer.
