Fertility treatments we offer
In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
A treatment where eggs are fertilised by sperm in a lab, then transferred to the womb, offering hope to individuals or couples facing difficulties conceiving naturally.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
Sometimes conventional IVF needs a helping hand. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a lab technique that may be appropriate for you, if your sperm needs a bit of extra help to achieve successful fertilisation.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
A fertility treatment where sperm is placed directly into the womb during ovulation, helping to increase the likelihood of sperm reaching and fertilising an egg.
Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
A process where a previously frozen embryo, created through IVF, is thawed and transferred to the womb, offering another chance at pregnancy without undergoing a full IVF cycle.
Ovulation Induction (OI)
A gentle treatment using medication to stimulate the ovaries, encouraging the release of eggs, improving the chances of conception for individuals who experience irregular or absent ovulation.
PGT-A (Genetic testing)
A screening method used during IVF to check embryos for chromosomal abnormalities, helping to select the healthiest embryos for transfer, enhancing the chances of a successful pregnancy.
Treatments Using a Donor
Assisted reproductive treatments that involve the use of donated sperm, eggs, or embryos to help individuals or couples achieve pregnancy when using their own may not be possible.
Complementary therapies
Our comprehensive approach to IVF support offers two complementary therapy services – nutrition and acupuncture – to help enhance your chances of a successful IVF outcome.
IVF Add-ons
Our patient-centred care means that under some circumstances supplementary treatments, known as add-ons or adjuvants, may be offered (these include things such as GERI time-lapse, intralipids, embryo screening (PGT-A), endometrial scratching and assisted hatching). These are treatments that have been found to work for some patients, however, they do not have a rigorous evidence-base to support wider use.
Preserving your fertility
Bourn Hall has a state-of-the-art cryopreservation service and to keep open your chances of having a family in the future, we offer comprehensive freezing programmes for eggs, sperm and embryos.
Egg Freezing
Egg freezing can offer you a way to preserve your eggs if you are not ready to become pregnant just now but wish to bank some of your eggs to preserve your future fertility.
Sperm Freezing
Sperm can stay frozen for a long period but, under current UK legislation, the standard storage is 55 years. This option can offer you a way to preserve your sperm if you are facing medical treatment that could compromise your future fertility.
Become a Donor
Becoming a donor helps other people create a family. With one in six couples in the UK affected by infertility, we need amazing people like you to help change the lives of those who want to start a family.
