There are two main causes of male infertility: a lack or absence of sperm, or poor sperm quality. Both of these issues can be caused by a variety of factors; some men are affected by an injury or illness, and some may suffer from a genetic condition that affects the quality of their ejeculate. Others may have suffered from environmental factors, such as the effects of drugs such as steroids, while, for some, hormonal issues can hinder sperm production.
