Jackie Richardson

Lead Nurse

Before joining Bourn Hall’s Colchester clinic in 2011 Jackie spent 25 years as a nurse in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corp and then as a civilian nurse within the military.

Jackie feels that the military was in her blood with her Dad and some of her brothers having been in the army. So Jackie left her job in a little town in Scotland and signed up. She trained and qualified as a nurse and got to see the world, living in Hong Kong, Germany and the Falkland Islands amongst others.

Jackie joined Bourn Hall as a Fertility Nurse in June 2011 and was promoted over the years to Advanced Fertility Nurse Specialist with special responsibility for co-ordinating the egg donation programme. More recently, at the end of 2020, she also took on the role of Lead Nurse for the Wickford and Colchester clinics. Jackie shares this role with her colleague Kate Pleace.

“The journeys our patients take are all very different. I share the patients’ emotional rollercoaster and despite all my experience I can still get quite emotional myself. I love what I do. My entire focus is on our patients and I will do everything I can to help and support them.”
